Corey and Alyssa’s September proposal with Rockies Heli was exactly that.
From the moment we lifted off to the quiet stillness of an alpine lake surrounded by towering peaks, every part of this day was intentional, emotional, and wildly unforgettable.

Corey didn’t rush into this. He spent months planning every detail to make sure the experience felt seamless, private, and completely true to their relationship. That’s the beauty of a helicopter proposal—you’re not just choosing a location, you’re creating an experience from start to finish.

To keep the proposal a complete surprise, we built a story around Alyssa, thinking this was just a regular helicopter experience. I posed as a new staff member, casually joining the day as if I was simply there to observe and help. The Rockies Heli team and our pilot? Absolute pros. They played along so naturally that there wasn’t even a hint of suspicion. This is something I always tell couples—when you work with a team that’s experienced in proposals, it makes all the difference. The Proposal Moment

Within minutes, the landscape opened up into endless ridgelines, deep valleys, and rugged peaks stretching in every direction. The further we flew, the more it felt like we were leaving the rest of the world behind. It felt less like transportation and more like an experience on its own. And then, Lake of the Falls appeared beneath us.

There’s something surreal about landing in a place that feels completely untouched. Lake of the Falls is surrounded by towering peaks, with a quiet alpine lake sitting at its center and forest wrapping around the edges. No trails. No crowds. Just raw, natural beauty in every direction. As the helicopter touched down and the noise faded, everything became still. It was just the two of them—and the mountains.

Corey didn’t overcomplicate it. He led Arlyssa a short distance from the landing spot, with the lake behind them and the peaks rising all around. There was a pause—one of those quiet, weightless moments where everything slows down. And then he got down on one knee. It was simple. Genuine. Completely theirs. She said yes!

The nerves were now gone, replaced with excitement and that just-engaged kind of happiness that’s impossible to fake. Rockies Heli had provided champagne, and the two of them celebrated right there beside the lake. As we lifted off, Lake of the Falls slowly disappeared beneath us, and the vastness of the Rockies stretched out once again. The return flight felt quieter—in the best way. During the short 10-minute flight, the pilot pointed out distant glaciers carved into the mountains and even a bear’s den tucked into the wilderness below.

Back at the heliport, the experience ended in a way that felt just as intentional as it began. Freshly baked goods were waiting for them. After everything—the flight, the proposal, the celebration—it was a simple, grounding way to wrap up such a big moment.
