Lindsay + Mike | Golden Hour Ottawa Engagement
I shot Lindsay + Mike's engagement photos not too far from Linday's childhood home in rural Ottawa. We found a cornfield and started shooting as golden hour was firing off the light it's famous for. At one point we heard coyotes not to far off in the distance. Linday's laughed and said don't worry Mike will protect us!!
These two are the definition of an adventure couple! And their engagement story is the best. It involves camping and an old army box.
Here is how Mike proposed told by Lindsay:
We were camping at Charleston lake at one of the hike in camp sites. We had left something along the trail that was too awkward to carry. When we arrived at the site Mike offered to go back and get it while I set up the tent. I figured that was a fair deal lol. He grabbed his big pack and explained it was training for Tough Mudder that summer, I believed him and didn't think anything of it. After setting up the tent he still wasn't back so I went swimming. Finally when he got back he said he had found a geocache and we should go open it together! I was super excited and followed him down the trail in my bathing suit and all. We came out to a beautiful cliff lookout and he grabbed an army box from a crevice in the rock. Inside was a piece of paper with a poem on it. We each started reading it but along the way I realized that it was written about me! Once I had finished reading he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him, one of the happiest moments of my life!
(I'm super honoured to have also been their wedding photographer for their backyard wedding! Can't wait to show you their wedding photos! Stay tuned! )
